Director & Co-Founder

Starting her career as a researcher for nearly four years, in the DBT supported all India project of enumeration of plants in the Western Ghats, Medhavi then turned to academics educating and providing experiential learning to the Masters students in the field of Biodiversity, in MES Abasaheb Garware College, Pune. Medhavi provided her assistance for the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP for Maharashtra) constituted by MOEFCC. From assisting the projects to coordinating them, she has come a long way and has acted as project coordinator for the biodiversity survey and enhancement project for the companies and ‘Green Audit’ for the institutions. In her experience of nearly two decades in the field of ecology, environment and biodiversity, she has worked as a consultant for Pune Knowledge Cluster, Reeds, The Ecological Solutions, Sahara Aamby Valley adventure Cell and Private farm house owners. With several research publications to her name, she is also involved in penning articles in the magazines and news papers. With the exposure and understanding of this field at various levels, Medhavi not only has guided several Masters students in their projects but also delivered talks on various topics in schools, colleges, corporate clubs and social organizations.

From representing India in Darwin Scholarship programme at the UK to being a member of IUCN SSC Western Ghats Plant Specialist Group, and performing a vital role in MOEFCC constituted Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (Maharashtra segment), Amruta has got many feathers in her cap and a vast work experience of nearly two decades in the field of Biodiversity and conservation. In her foundation years she has worked for various projects lead by the organizations like Center for Ecological Science, IISc (Bengaluru), Abasaheb Garware College (Pune) and RANWA (Pune) as a plant, biodiversity expert. A seasoned researcher and having many peer reviewed publications to her credit, Amruta has also acted as a consultant for Ecology, Environment and Livelihood projects for Pune Knowledge Cluster (PKC), Yojak, Reeds, Sahaydri Nisarg Mitra, The Ecological Solutions, township planners and private farm house owners. Striving to provide holistic sustainable solutions, she successfully completed ‘Lead Auditor Training course’ (ISO 14001:2001 Standard in Environment Management Systems) and CFI course on Environment Social Governance. Further, she is involved in conducting ‘Green Audits’ for various institutes in academic or industrial settings and also is an avid article writer for the Magazines and newspapers.

Yash Mishrikotkar is a dedicated wildlife biologist with a robust background in biodiversity conservation and environmental policy. Currently serving as a Project Associate at Ecovrat Envirosolutions Pvt. Ltd., he engages in various projects focusing on biodiversity, corporate social responsibility, eco-restoration, and wildlife conservation. Yash holds a Master of Science in Biodiversity Monitoring and Utilization and is pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Laws and Policies. He is acknowledged for delivering insights to the state forest department on critical issues such as human-leopard conflict and ethical tourism practices, sharing his expertise to foster better understanding and strategies in these areas. Additionally, Yash has contributed to significant research projects, including a social assessment of Indian leopards, and is a certified ornithologist proficient in QGIS and Google Earth Pro. His commitment to environmental conservation is further demonstrated through his involvement with organizations like the Planet Earth Foundation, YOUNGO UNFCCC Youth Constituency and The Nature Conservancy .

As a dedicated Field and Research Assistant at Ecovrat EnviroSolutions in Pune (2023–Present),Dheeraj is passionate about biodiversity and is an integral part of the ecological assessment team. His role encompasses analyzing data, interviewing stakeholders and developing actionable recommendations for sustainable practices. He has successfully collaborated with multi-disciplinary teams to design Environmental Management Plans and his expertise extends to field surveys, biodiversity conservation, and the creation of detailed reports enriched with data visualization to communicate findings effectively. His academic foundation in biodiversity, enriched by hands-on experiences, includes a dissertation on the Digital Herbarium of Endemic Herbaceous Flora and Biodiversity Documentation of Tableland Panchgani, A Lateritic Plateau from Maharashtra, India and an internship examining Pollination Syndrome and floral visitors’ diversity of Amboli, Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, India. These projects have deepened his skills in species documentation, photo-documentation, and surveying techniques. Dheeraj has an experience of working with the esteemed NGOs like RANWA and Nisargasutra which have further honed his skills in biodiversity documentation, focusing on species identification and habitat assessments across diverse ecosystems.
